Companies increasingly rely on the support of human resources consultants to assemble their team of professionals. For one simple reason: the best value for money. “Organizations want more efficiency and agility, which is why they hire consultants to search for professionals in the market faster, more accurately and at a lower cost”, highlights Rosana Silva Luz, Resources and Services coordinator at Homine.

There are currently two service models provided by HR consultancies to companies: allocation and headhunting of professionals. Discover the differences between them and the benefits of each model for your company.

Assembling the team with allocated resources

In the allocation of professionals – a practice also known in the market as outsourcing or body shop –, the company outsources the workforce of a certain area or project with the support of an IT consultancy, which searches the market for the professional profiles requested by the client. “In this case, we indicate the professionals and, once approved by the company, they are hired by us, the consulting firm, and assigned to the client to carry out the work”, explains Rosana. The allocated team is generally managed by the client. In larger projects, the consultancy can also act in coordinating the team's efforts.

According to Rosana, the main benefits of allocating professionals are the cost reduction, with the replacement of fixed cost (CLT) by variable, and the decrease in time spent by the internal human resources department to select and recruit people. In addition, the consultancy is responsible for the relationship with the allocated professionals, for the management of licenses and leaves and for the replacement of professionals who may not suit the job or the company. With this, it “shields” the client from labor claims.

“At Homine, 95% of our HR consulting services are allocated to the allocation of professionals to client companies, focusing mainly on the IT area, where we are experts and have been operating for almost 20 years”, reveals Rosana. In allocation services, companies pay a fixed monthly amount to the consultancy (fee), based on the team allocated to the client.

The best professional for the job

in the services of headhunting, in turn, the consultancy recruits the professional so that the company hires him. It works like this: the client identifies a need for labor and outlines the desired professional profile for the vacancy. Based on these characteristics, the consultancy will look for and evaluate possible candidates for the vacancy, presenting the best profiles to the company, which is ultimately responsible for hiring.

in the work of headhunting, the consultancy evaluates a series of attributes of professionals, both technical and behavioral, to indicate candidates who best fit the characteristics of the vacancy. “The company does not waste time looking for professionals; we are responsible for this search”, says Rosana. For this work, the consultancy is paid a fixed amount, which generally corresponds to a percentage of the salary of the professional to be hired.

Recruitment experience
