The automation of data entry of electronic fiscal documents, such as bills of sale (NF-e), services (NFS-e) and transport bills (CT-e), in ERP systems brings a series of benefits to companies. In addition to eliminating rework caused by typing errors, technology adoption improves productivity, increases control and compliance tax, boosting the operational efficiency of organizations.
In recent months, Homine has detected a growing demand for its automation solution, the HomSoft. “We noticed, mainly from the second half of 2018, a significant increase in the number of queries made by companies interested in acquiring our solution”, reveals the CEO of Homine, Horácio Menin.
In practice, this demonstrates that companies that still carry out manual entry of invoice data are discovering the advantages of automating their processes. According to Horácio Menin, in 2018, Homine recorded a growth of around 82% compared to the previous year in the number of commercial presentations of the solution carried out by the team. And demand continues to rise in the first months of 2019 as well.
The search for more agility in the processes of physical and fiscal entry into the company, the reduction of bookkeeping errors and rework, greater fiscal control and transparency, but also the complexity and Brazilian tax bureaucracy are among the factors that explain the increase in demand for automation solutions inbound (input) of tax documents.
According to the report Doing Business 2019, by the World Bank, Brazil is the country in the world where most time is spent calculating and paying taxes. There are 1,958 hours per year, on average, spent by Brazilian companies to deal with tax bureaucracy. The average across OECD countries is 159.4 hours. The country is also vice leader in the ranking of financial complexity, presenting the greatest difficulties in complying with tax and accounting obligations.
The frequent implementation of new tax rules, instead of trying to reduce bureaucracy and simplify taxation, further tighten the control of inspection bodies. By choosing to automate their data entry and management processes, companies reduce the fiscal risks caused by bureaucracy and facilitate audit processes, due to the accuracy of information registration.
HomSoft automates the physical (MIGO) and fiscal (MIRO) entry processes of goods, bills of lading and services in the SAP system, after previously comparing whether the data contained in the XML of the electronic tax document, issued by the supplier, is equivalent to the information described in the purchase order that originated the transaction.
Companies that have adopted the solution report significant gains in operational efficiency, lower costs and standardization of processes, especially in logistics – entry of trucks, goods and yard control.
The reduction in labor time is one of the most impressive results. Homine's PMO, Jorge Gonzalez, who has already led HomSoft implementation projects at several clients, exemplifies that a MIRO process done manually can take from 40 minutes to an hour to complete, if all data is correct. “With automation, that time can drop to about ten minutes or even less”, highlights.
